Responsibilities

-Develop, customise and manage sports coaching and instructional material and programmes, to be utilised by the many stakeholders and partners.

-Manage the registry of coaches and instructors and maintain the professional standards of sports coaching and instruction.

-Strategise, plan and deliver, and manager the national sports coaching framework for all sports in Singapore.

-Customise and produce the coaching curriculum for all sports, across all ages, in collaboration with NSAs and other sports experts. This role will involve guiding the NSAs in their development of their coaching curriculum and standards.

-Oversee the outreach to respective organisations, institutions and stakeholders that practise sports instruction, for the adoption and utilisation of the coaching framework and curriculum.

-Establish and maintain the professional standards of sports coaches and instructors in Singapore.

-Assist to establish and support the Coach Advisory Panel.

-Lead and develop a team of managers and executives in strategizing the direction of sports coaching and instruction in Singapore, and the development of a professional coaching fraternity. This role includes driving the staff development plans and conducting staff training too, where needed.

-Be the domain knowledge expert in areas regarding sports coaching and instruction development, and respond to occasional requests for such information by media or other stakeholders.

Requirements

-Masters graduate or above, with other qualifications in sports development, physical education and /or sports sciences.

-Minimum 10 years experience in sports and /or physical education , including 3 to 5 years at a management level leading teams.

-In- depth knowledge of sports pedagogy, sports development, sports curriculum and content, sports organisations.

-Ability to work with and influence the thinking around sports coaching and instruction at various levels, and across sports and ages.

-Have proven track record of success at coaching and is (preferably) still involved in sports coaching in one way or another.
