Responsibilities

• Develop strategies and implement action plans to harness science and technology that will enable the Singapore Sports Institute (SSI) to support the sporting success of athletes through a systematic and evidence-based Science & Technology Planning (S&TP) framework.

• Work with National Sports Associations (NSAs), private and public sectors, local and overseas research communications to define and scope suitable research projects that will ensure SSI’s long term success and relevance.

• Facilitate such Research & Development (R&D) collaborations to ensure timely delivery of project milestones to be in line with S&TP roadmap.

• Administer grants of research monies to drive key research topics relevant to SSI’s roadmap.

• Research and analyse trends and data to support strategic decision making within SSI.

Requirements;
• Masters degree in Science, Engineering, Sports Sciences or any related discipline with at least 10 years of experience in a research environment

• Minimum 5 years of experience in leading a team in a research environment, with good insight and preferably some experience in managing R&D and delivering results

• Demonstrate good track record in research , business and people leadership as well as success in building collaborative alliances and managing conflicting interests from stakeholders

• Motivated and self-driven, able to work as a team or individually

• Good writing and effective communication skills

• Have a passion for sports and the desire to see the advancement of sports in Singapore
