Responsibilities;
• Strategise, plan and manage the development of operational information systems through the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Establish user requirements by actively engaging management, engineers, field officers and operators. Understand and challenge user processes/practices and requirements so as to provide solutions to improve operational efficiencies and productivity for the Operation Departments
• Lead in systems integration of synergistic systems including Enterprise IT applications, Water SCADA systems, GIS and sensors.
• Drive system architecting and governance in the areas of operational data management, applications/standards, info security and networks.
Requirements
• Good honours degrees in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science or equivalent
• Good working knowledge in some of the following technologies : MS Sharepoint, MS SQL, .NET Framework, Web Service/XML/SOAP, Enterprise Service Bus, JavaScript/jQuery, iOS/Android SDK, ESRI ArcGIS.
• Good understanding of network topologies, protocols and network security including firewall technologies, intruder detection systems and protection against malware/virus attacks/APTs.
• Experience in SCADA systems development and maintenance, project management/SDLC and systems integration/architecting work is preferred

Responsibilities;
The Lab Technologist will be performing the day-to-day laboratory analytical and general functions and contributes directly to the smooth operation of the Section. He/she has to carry out specific projects for the development of methods to provide support to the overall function of the Section. He/she will report directly to Head/Microbiology and indirectly to the Lead/Senior Scientist.

The job scope of the Lab Technologist includes:

• To implement the Section’s quality assurance programmes and laboratory bio-safety measures so as to ensure that all test results are accurate and consistent.

• To perform routine microbiological analysis for food samples to provide technical support for ‘export certification’ and ‘import control’ of food in line with national and international policies.

• To carryout specific duties and development projects assigned by Head/Microbiology.

• To be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of equipment used and general cleanliness of work place.

• To provide assistance to training courses conducted by the Head/Microbiology.

Requirements;
• A Polytechnic Diploma in Biotechnology / Food science with minimum 1 year’s working experience in related fields.

• Knowledge of MS Office is required to generate reports and for updating database.

• Must have good written / oral communication skills.

Utilities Support Engineer Job Vacancy at Roche Singapore Technical Operations in Singapore

Roche Singapore Technical Operations, formerly Genentech Singapore, is pleased to announce the location of a 1,000-liter microbial manufacturing facility and an 80,000-liter cell culture manufacturing facility in Singapore. These state-of-the-art facilities will produce the bulk drugs Lucentis (ranibizumab), a treatment for age-related macular degeneration, Avastin (bevacizumab), used in the treatment of various types of cancer, and Herceptin (trastuzumab), used for breast cancer.
Responsibilities:
-Be the main contact person for all the maintenance scheduling activities for all Utilities system
-Responsible for routine shift planning and work distribution.
-Coordinates with Quality document control team to ensure Utilities shift logs is always updated and readily available for shift team to use.
-Perform monthly Utilities consumption/costing trend report.
-Compile annual review report for all Utilities system, including OEE for each system.
-Provides mechanical support to manufacturing, utility and engineering services during routine and shutdown maintenance work; and product switch-over in support of plant operations.
-Operate and maintain all utilities systems i.e. water & waste water system, HVAC system, and process gaseous, electrical systems to support manufacturing operations
-Supervise and monitor contractors and service maintenance work
-Competent to approve various safety permits for work
-Carry out improvement projects on operations and cost savings
-Monitor facilities and utilities systems via BAS/PCS and attend to alarms
-Carry out any other work or task as directed by the Manager or Supervisors.
-Play a role in on-site emergency response teams and participate actively in training.
-Meet site’s EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) performance objectives through compliance via EHS rules.
-Ensure weekly safety walk down is carried out and follow up on all outstanding tasks.
Qualifications:
-A Degree/ Diploma in Electrical, Instrumentation, Chemical Process, Mechanical Engineering with a strong background in operation and maintenance of production, utility, instrumentation and electrical systems.
-5-7 years’ hands-on working experience, preferably 3-5 years in chemical manufacturing, technical and/or factory operations.
-Experience in project start-up environment and safety procedures/practices is an added advantage.
-Good inter-personal and communication skills, and high computer literacy.
-Self-motivated, independent and have initiative.
-Knowledgeable in craft to support efficient plant operations.
-Willing to perform multiple and cross-functional tasks.
-Must be able to work on rotating shifts when required
-Willing to be scheduled to occasionally work off shift hours in support of operations.
