Responsibilities:

 Responsibilities:
Supervise the Accounts Payable team and to be responsible for the processing and payment of vendor invoices and employee expense reports,Managing & reviewing payments, AP aging, AP accruals and other major account payable activities    

Processing payment in timely manner and in accordance to company’s AP and Accounting policies / guidelines
Ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices/staff claims and payment to creditors/staff
Ensure all accounts are properly maintained and reconciled
Ensure compliance to GST and withholding tax regulations
Initiate and proactively participate in projects, execution of plans and improvement of processes
Involve in the preparation and review of the half year audit committee meeting reports

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Accountancy or equivalent with 8 to 10 years of accounting experience; of which the recent 5 years focusing in AP function

Responsibilities;
The Principal Scientist serves to focus and strengthen the Laboratory’s in-house research and development activities. The Principal Scientist’s task priorities are to develop and upgrade laboratory testing capabilities to meet the needs of the AVA’s role as the National Food Safety Authority.

The Principal Scientist reports directly to the Deputy Director. The general duties and responsibilities include:

• Overall conceiving, planning, driving and undertaking research and development activities under the direction of the Director.

• To develop, source, evaluate and adopt new methods for the detection and identification of emerging food hazards in order to expand the range of analytical capabilities.

• Leads his/her technical team and carry out the R&D activities. Ensure the progress of R&D program; monitors and guides the quality of scientific and technical resources; and ensure the R&D activities meet all project deliverables and safety standards.

• To plan, arrange, and map out relevant training program for relevant staff and conduct in-house training for staff, undergraduates and personnel from relevant industries.

• To recommend and acquire appropriate instruments and equipment to upgrade technical capability and enhance productivity of the Section.

• To liaise closely with local and overseas counterparts and research institutes on food and food safety related matters so as to achieve the goals of the VPHL Microbiology Department.

• To provide regular updates and feedback to the Director on the progress of the R&D activities, highlight any significant finding of possible public health implications and to conduct appropriate follow-up actions.

• To provide expert technical evaluations and consultation to other AVA department, industry or research institutes under the direction of the Director.

• To cover the duty of Head of the assigned Section and to assume specific duties under the direction of the Director.

Requirements;
• Masters or PhD in Microbiology / Food science / Molecular science/ Biological science and related fields

• Must have a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in Microbiology, hands-on working experience in research or diagnostic laboratory.

• Must have good written / oral communication skills.

• To provide assistance to training courses conducted by the Head/Microbiology.

Requirements;
• A Polytechnic Diploma in Biotechnology / Food science with minimum 1 year’s working experience in related fields.

• Knowledge of MS Office is required to generate reports and for updating database.
